Minimum Wage Increase

The Fair Work Ombudsman has issued a reminder to businesses and their advisers that new industry award rates and allowances came into effect on 1st July 2016.

The changes to wages and allowances applies to employees whose rates are gleamed from:
* The national minimum wage
* A modern award Or
* (in some cases) a registered agreement.

The increase does not affect employees who are already paid more than the NEW minimum wage, and the new rates apply from the first FULL pay period commencing on or after 1st July 2016.

To obtain a copy of the new rates or to download PACT calculations or Pay Guide, go to the FWO website remembering to set the date at 1st July 2016.  Downloading the information to your “My Account” profile will ensure you will be automatically updated whenever there is a wage increase.
